Old Golfball Collection
Description
The eight golfballs were found by Jack Malcolm in October 2021 at the Maynard Country Club. All were dug out of wet and wooded grounds along the 5th fairway. At one time the area was used as a practice area but it was too far from the club house for the members to frequent regularly. In turn it was let go and is now a wooded and wet area.The balls back then were thinner skin and a club could make a nice slice which is seen in some of the balls. Many of the balls are decades old and easily date back to the 1950s and some beyond that.
Years of wetness and ground shifting exposed a small white object which Jack Malcolm proceeded to dig up. A number of old golf balls were hidden just beneath the surface. He trusts there a many more for future generations to find.
The collection includes the following golfballs: Jack Nicklaus Autograph 2; Doug Sanders 3; Pinnacle 3; Wilson Blue Ridge 4; 252-2; Acushnet 2; Dunlop 4; Maxfli.
