Title

International Cooperative Assoc. Corporate Seal Press - 1910

Description

The Association was organized by Polish people in Maynard, with a sprinkling of Lithuanians and Russians. On Jan. 6, 1911 the Coop Association opened for business in Higgins Block, Main Street (next to the Methodist Church). In 1918, it moved to the Masonic Building, corner of Main and Walnut Sts. In 1930, the Association sold at auction the Seal to Jacob Sawutz, an employee. Jacob Sawutz ran Jake's Market on Main Street.

The seal is used to execute a legal document or guarantee the document's authenticity. A seal is unique to a sealer and is used by government agencies, corporations and notaries public to show that the docum ent is validly executed, acknowledged or witnessed. (National Notary Association)
