About

Welcome to the archive website for the Maynard Historical Society, Maynard, Massachusetts.

The Maynard Historical Society has collected literally thousands of documents, photographs, artifacts, and memorabilia pertaining to the history of Maynard and its residents.

Temporarily located in Mill&Main (the mill complex), the Collection is undergoing its first major survey and cataloging since it was created over 55 years ago. Starting in 2009 the cataloging and digitization of the Collection is taking place through the efforts of Society volunteers.

The ultimate goal is to make the Society's collection available online for research, education, and history buffs alike. Over the past 15+ years we have been making slow but steady progress. We are not done, but a significant portion of the collection is now available here in some form. There is no scheduled completion date at this time.

Through the work of our dedicated team of volunteers, as of July 2024, we have made over 3300 documents, 5300 images, and 2000 artifacts accessible to the public online, with more added each week.

If you would like to help with adding items to our catalog we have a number of projects that you can contribute to from your own computer. Some projects don't even require you to be near Maynard! Contact Dave Griffin, Maynard Historical Society at: davebets@mac.com.

Support for the Maynard Historical Society's Archiving Project comes from contributions by Maynard Historical Society members and a Community Preservation Grant (CPA) from the Town of Maynard, Massachusetts.

We are also grateful for the support of Lincoln Properties and past owners of Mill&Main (formerly Clock Tower Place).
