Title

Henry Fowler's Chair

Description

This chair was the property of Henry Fowler, the original petitioner for the incorporation of the Town of Maynard. He was the father of Herbert, George, Loring, and Orrin. He was the grandfather of Guyer W. and Harry. He was rather short in stature and had a habit of hooking his feet on the side rungs, which is the reason the rungs are worn almost flat on the top.

The chair was given to Dr. Earl F. Ryan, who later gave it to Mrs. Ralph L. Sheridan, who donated it to the Maynard Historical Society.
