A cardboard cutout of the Batley Florist logo. The florist business was begun in 1892 and continued to expand through 1910 with the erection of a number greenhouses. Mr. Batley and his son ran a successful florist business both locally and in Boston. The Maynard Weekly Enterprise did a story on the Batley's business on May 9, 1923. This article documents the growth of the business in Maynard. Albert Batley, Sr. passed away on October 5, 1934 after sustaining injuries from a fall from an apple tree.
