Description
A British War Medal, 1914-1918, was awarded to officers and men of the British and Imperial Forces who either entered a theater of war or entered services overseas between Aug. 5, 1914 and Nov. 11, 1918. King George V is pictured on the front. On the reverse side is a man on horseback and the dates 1914 & 1918. Approximately 6.5 million British War Medals were issued. The recipient's service number, rank, name and unit was impressed on the rim. Cpl. Roy Gray's information is engraved on the rim of this medal.
