Description

Tom Sheridan was born in Concord, MA on September 18, 1948, to Raymond J. Sheridan Sr. (b. 1909) and Mary N. Grigas (b. 1910). He has one brother, Raymond Sheridan Jr. (b. 1929), and three sisters - Ann (b. 1931), Nancy (b. 1941), and Judy (b. 1944). They initially lived at 12 Hillside St. but soon moved to 45 Old Marlboro Rd. where he grew up. Tom graduated from Maynard High School in 1966. He went on to attend Wentworth Institute in Boston 1966-1967. He attended Western New Mexico University 1967-1970. He later worked for Sea Consultants Inc. in Boston 1970-1974. He worked as their REA on various construction projects. While there he took various courses at Cornell University on construction inspection programs.

He became Superintendent of Public Works in Maynard in January 1975. He oversaw the departments of water, sewer, highway, cemetery, parks, and trees. In addition, he became the tree warden, fence viewer, and planning board agent. While there he took various courses in the public works and municipal field at Framingham State College, Worcester State College, Middlesex Community College, and Lowell State College. There were also training courses by Mass and New England Water Work Association. He obtained various licenses: MA Grade 4 – Drinking Water Operator, MA Grade 4 – W.W.T.P Operator, MA Grade 6 – Sewer Collection Operator, OSHA Certified Const. Course, Mass Highway Life Member, and Mass Water Works – 50-year member. He retired from the DPW in 1988.

He married Deborah Killoran (b. 1951) in 1974. They raised two children; Mia (b. 1978) and Brooke (b. 1979). They lived at 0 Walker St. They later moved to 69 Old Marlborough Rd. in 1996, then 3 Kitty Cat Lane in 2002, and retired to 17 Parlin Drive, York Maine in 2019.
