Description
Tom Sheridan served as the DPW Superintendent from 1975 to 1988.
A farewell party was held for Tom on January 29, 1988, in the lower level of the town building. A proclamation, issued by the selectmen, proclaiming January 29, 1988 as Thomas J. Sheridan Day, was read by Anne Flood, Chairperson of the Board of Selectmen. A poem written by family friend, Alice R. Hanson, was read by Alice. Tom spoke and thanked everyone for attending. The photo album was put together by DPW office clerks Rosemary O'Loughlin and Pat Coggins. A guest book was kept of all those in attendance.
The first photo shows the article announcing Tom's appointment, in the Beacon newspaper December 1974. Some of those pictured in the album are: Tom, wife Deb, and daughters Brooke and Mia, Anne Flood, Rick Hayes, George Shaw, Mike Gianotis, Joe Brooks, Lou Mula, Tom Lydon, Boika Helin, Bill Tobin, and Bob Gilligan.
The next picture shows (l-r) Tom Sheridan, Selectwoman Anne Flood (reading the proclamation), and Selectman George Shaw. Following that is the proclamation.
