Description
This event was held to raise money for a proposed soldiers and sailors monument. A Parade downtown to Rev. John A. Crowe Park was followed by a speaking program and barbecue. The Honorable John F. Fitzgerald (Grandfather of President John F. Kennedy) was the principal speaker. He is standing directly behind the roasting steer. Louis Agrondi and his staff are preparing an 800 lb. steer. The photo includes Joshua Edwards of the committee and Harlow Greene of the Maynard Police Force. They appear at the left of the table. At lower left is Rev. A. M. Osgood of the Methodist Church.
