This is a 1963 Peter Pirsch Ladder Truck and was Maynard’s second ladder truck.

Peter Pirsch began building horse-drawn ladder wagons in 1900 with a motor-driven apparatus debuting in 1908. Pirsch became one of the leading builders of aerial ladders in the 1930s and was the first aerial ladder with a hydro-mechanical hoist. Pirsch was one of the leading builders of fire apparatus after World War Two. In 1961 Pirsch introduced its own cab-forward model, dubbed the Safety Cab, which you can see in our photograph. Pirsch went out of business in 1986,
