The 'Brothers of the Brush' were a group of men in Maynard who grew beards during the Centennial Year 1971. Brothers of the Brush Charters were issued to the following groups: 'The Muskrats'; the 'Deer Slayers'; the 'Milltowners'; the 'Smoke Eaters'; the 'Powder Mill Antlers'; the 'All Americans'; the 'Special Investigators'; and, the 'Gun and Powder'.
The Charters were found in the buried Maynard Time Capsule of 1971, and opened in 2021.
