A souvenir china plate from Jacob Oberg Shoe Store. The plate shows the monthly calendars for 1913, and has the words: " Jacob Oberg, Dry goods, Boots & Shoes, Maynard, Mass".
The Jacob Oberg started the shoe store in 1903 at the lower end of Main St. and later moved to the Masonic Building at 102 Main St. His daughter Sigrid joined him later and she and her husband, Tony Palmaccio, bought the business. Their sons Barry and John assumed ownership and carried on until Sept. 1, 1983 when the store was closed.
