The article dated May 18, 1978, describes plans for a Fire Department Mass on May 21 at 8:30 to honor deceased brothers in service, as well as to ask God's protection for those serving. Following the mass, the firefighters planned to visit Glenwood and St. Bridget's Cemeteries for Memorial Day services.
That afternoon, Archbishop Sheen was planned to be welcomed to conduct Holy Hour services at 4:00 with other invited priests including: Fr. Louis Bilicky, St. Casimir's, Fr. John Cannon , St. Bridget's; Fr. Pius Dello Russo, St. Ann's, Marlboro; Msgr. John Abucewicz, Holy Trinity, Lowell; Fr. Armand Morissette, St. Jean de Baptiste, Lowell; Fr. Joseph Lukas, Sacred Heart, Ipswich; Fr. Walter Stoklosa, St. Thomas Acquinas, Nahant; Fr. Thaddeus Saja, St. Peter's, Norwood; Fr. Thomas Navien, Sacred Heart, Groton, and Fr. Anthony Jurgielewicz from Vermont. The Holy Hour services were planned to be broadcast over WAVM radio and closed-circuit tv.
Additional planned parish events included a Spring Polka Dance on May 27, and First Holy Communion followed by the May Procession on May 28.

After the Holy Hour, a surprise belated birthday party was held for him in the parish hall. Gifts were presented to the Archbishop by Mary Szczerzenia, Martha Krysieniel, Irene Narekiewicz, Norman Gilbert, and Fr. Bilicky.
