Observation Tower on Summer Hill - ca. 1940's
The Observation Tower was built by the American Legion to watch for airplanes and was manned 24 hours per day. It was later taken over by the Coast Artillery. It was destroyed by fire on October 30, 1951.

John Calvin Roberts 1835-1863
Civil War Casualty
John Roberts was a Private, Co I, 1st Maine Calvary , Union Army, killed in action on May 3, 1863. Buried in an unmarked grave near Louisa Court House, VA. There is a Commemorative Marker in the Robert's lot at the Glenwood Cemetery.
