Title
Maynard High School Football Helmet
Description
This helmet was used during the period from 1969 to 1979 by the High School. That group of helmets were later used by the Junior High School. This is an evaluation of the helmets used over the years. They started with leather helmets in the 1920s-1930s with no face masks. They proceeded to hard the plastic type with cross bars for face protection in the 1940s and 1950s. The helmets began to have padding inside and mask type face protection, starting in the 1960s.
