Description
This is the second school on the site. In 1891 the Mossman property on Glendale St. was purchased and a new twelve room wooden school was erected. The school was dedicated with impressive ceremonies at the Music Hall on Oct. 5th, 1892, with Amory Maynard 2nd leading the singing of America. This was Maynard's first"High School". It was completely destroyed by fire in September of 1916. A third school was built on the same foundation. It was opened in 1918 and named the Roosevelt School. Now the public library.
