Title
Horse Tether
Description
This type of tether was fastened to a leather strap which in turn was fastened to the harness at the rear of the horse's head. When the wagon stopped this tether was usually dropped to the ground and kept the horse from roaming too far away. The grocery wagons all used them because the driver would have to stop at houses along the way to take orders and then deliver the order later.
