Description
A comptometer used in the Assabet Mills. The Comptometer was the first commercially successful key-driven mechanical calculator, patented in the United States by Dorr Felt in 1887. The partnership was incorporated as the Felt & Tarrant Manufacturing Company, Chicago, on January 25, 1889.
