The Paper Mill Bridge - 1930's
This is the replacement bridge erected after the flood of 1927 undermined the then existing stone arch bridge. It was replaced in 2012.

A 4 oz. Jamaica Ginger bottle from Gilman's Variety Store, Paper Mill Bridge, Maynard, MA. Jamaica ginger was used quite extensively during the Prohibition Era. Used with other concoctions it can be quite potent.

The three large tenement buildings were on Main Street built by Amory Maynard. The auto in the foreground is a 1928 Ford Model A. The road on the far side of the bridge changes its name to Acton Street. This bridge was replaced in 2013.

Flood of November - 1927
A photos of the bridge, which was composed of field stone and granite, but the heavy rains caused a flood to undermine the structure. A concrete bridge was built at that time and it lasted until 2012 when it was replaced.
