Son of Orrin Fowler who owned Fowler Funeral Home. Guyer also ran the Funeral Home for many years. Guyer is the grandson of Henry Fowler, an original signer of the 1871 petition for incorporation of the Town of Maynard.

This band was derived from the Imatra Band, both bands were mostly Finnish. The National Band played at the Finnish Temperance Hall on Harriman Court.
