The Maynard Chapter of the American Legion was organized in late November 1919, named the Frank J. DeMars Post 235. Michael Lynch, a decorated veteran of WWI, was elected the first Post Commander.

The single braided should cord and gloves where worn with the dress uniform at the Legion formal events.

Guy Iannuzzo served in the Air Force and was a Veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
