        Forest Fire Pump

            The Forest Pump was built from an old Moth Department sprayer.  At the extreme right is Ray Carruth, a town mechanic who did most of the work building the trailer.  The body of water shown was later filled and is the location of St. Bridget's School.

            First photo shows the fire alarm switchboard and battery pack.. The second photo have the horse team ready to go with the sprinkler wagon at the right of the station.

            The firemen are on the way to decorate graves. The fire station was later used by Town Paint & Supply then torn down to make way for a new commercial building.

Maynard's "Old Jail" on Nason Street
            Built in 1891, the jail was the first brick building built by the Town of Maynard for municipal purposes.     American Woolen Company and Express Employees with Shipment of Cloth 1920.
            Woolen cloth being shipped by express from the Assabet Mills in 1920. The mill workers were able to load 347 pieces of wrapped wool onto the train car in 5 and 1/2 minutes.
